In November 2024, Taronga Conservation Society Australia announced LG Electronics Australia as the first-ever presenting partner of the Hatch: Taronga Accelerator Program – the world’s only start-up accelerator led by a conservation zoo.

With LG's support, the reimagined Hatch program will expand its impact, equipping ecopreneurs with the tools to develop innovative solutions for urgent environmental and conservation challenges. The 2025 Hatch, accelerated by LG cohort will take part in an intensive 14-week program, gaining access to mentorship from Taronga and LG experts to refine their ideas, strengthen their investor training and prepare for pitch success.

LG's annual REINVENT Day brought together employees from Australia and New Zealand to explore how making a difference helps create a better world. The event showcased LG's Life’s Good commitment and partnership with Taronga Conservation Society Australia, highlighting the power of collective action.

A standout was an inspiring panel discussion with wildlife activist Tyson Mayr, LG ANZ leaders Gemma Lemieux and Louise Annetts, Hatch Program Director Christie Gazal and Taronga’s Education Director Paul Maguire.

Together, they explored how purposeful choices and collective action can drive real change, reinforcing the idea that when we Do Good, we create a better future for both people and planet.

Our goal is to create a ripple effect

Every small action adds up, whether it’s choosing eco-friendly products, supporting conservation initiatives, or simply taking a moment to appreciate nature.

By doing good, we amplify the good around us, and this is why LG employees were invited to get involved and give back in a number of ways at this year's REINVENT Day:

Beach Clean at Athol Beach

LG employees took part in a Taronga Beach Clean experience along the Taronga foreshore on Athol Beach, guided by Taronga's sustainability experts and thought leaders. The event provided valuable insight into the extensive sustainability and conservation efforts led by Taronga, while highlighting the impact individuals can make on the environment through small, purposeful action.

Becoming a Zoo Parent

LG Employees were invited to become a Taronga Zoo Parent, supporting the care and conservation of endangered animals both here in Australia and around the world. With eight animals and six levels to choose from, there was an opportunity for everyone to get involved - from the Platypus, Bilby and Tasmanian Devil, to the Meerkat, Red Panda and Asian Elephant. As part of LG's ongoing commitment to sustainability and conservation, LG proudly supported the Taronga Zoo Parent program with a $10,000 donation to help protect the Red Panda.

We imagine a future where we’re all empowered to make a difference – because

Life’s Better when we Do Good, together.
